Who this pilot is for
Practice-Day Alerts is built for organizations that make day-to-day decisions about outdoor practice and conditioning. Organizations benefit from Practice-Day Alerts when:
  • You’re responsible for youth or school-age athletes practicing outdoors.
  • You want a clear way to translate heat, air quality, cold, and storms into practice decisions.
  • You’d like a tool that coaches can check in seconds on their phone or laptop.

What You Get In A Pilot

We handle the technical side so your staff can focus on athletes. You get:

Coach Quick-Start Kit

  • We link your coaches to the “What To Do” page so they know what OK / Modify / Cancel mean in practice.
  • Coaches can bookmark the status page or save it to their phone’s home screen so it’s always a tap away.

Live Status Page

  • We add your fields, gyms, or park sites to the Practice-Day map.
  • Coaches see a single Practice-Day Status page with your locations and clear OK / Modify / Cancel tags.
  • The page updates throughout the day using live heat index, wind-chill, air quality, and weather for each site.

Cutoffs & Reminders

  • You can optionally choose practice days and time windows so we can send simple email reminders  to your staff before practice.
  • We apply default OK / Modify / Cancel cutoffs based on NOAA/NWS, NATA/NFHS, and EPA/AirNow guidance.

FAQ

More information is available on the About page.
Who is a good fit for the pilot?
Anyone who hosts practices outside! Practice-Day Alerts is built for youth programs, school teams, rec leagues, and for organizations that host outdoor practice. If you’re already checking heat index, lightning, air quality, or field conditions, this gives you a simple, consistent way to turn that into OK / Modify / Cancel calls.
What does the pilot cost?
The Pinellas Practice pilot is completely free.
There’s no app to buy and no hardware to install. We’re testing how well the system works for real programs, and your feedback is the “payment” we care about most.
What technology do we need?
All you need is:
  • A web browser on a phone, tablet, or laptop
  • The ability for coaches to open a link or save it to their home screen
The Practice-Day Status page is mobile-friendly, and we handle all of the data feeds (heat index, wind-chill, air quality, and storms) on our end.
How do email reminders work?

If you opt in to reminders:

  • We’ll send practice-day emails to your designated point person (and any CCs you list).

  • Each email links to your Practice-Day Status page

  • You can update practice times, locations, or contacts at any point by replying to our email; we’ll adjust the settings for you

(Or, if you prefer no emails at all, you can still rely on the live status page anytime.)
